According to a tweet from ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Coach Avery Johnson picked up a commitment from Memphis transfer forward Nick King on Saturday.
The 6-foot-7, 220-pounder averaged 7.2 points per game with 4.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore while at Memphis. Due to transfer rules, he will have to sit out next season for the Tide.
King began a visit to Tuscaloosa on Thursday and that visit was supposed to wrap up today. He recently visited Ole Miss and had plans to visit Arkansas next weekend.
“Nick had called me one day and he said Alabama called him,” his father Greg King told Al.
