The Opening, Nike’s top camp of the summer, kicks off this week in Beaverton, Ore. It is held at the Nike World Headquarters as an invitation-only camp featuring 166 of the nation’s top high school football players. The players must have competed in a Nike regional camp during the spring to earn an invite to the event, much like the Rivals.com Five-Star Challenge in Baltimore.
A few five-star prospects, such as Marlon Davidson, defensive end from Greenville High School, and Jonah Williams, a five-star and Alabama commitment offensive tackle from Folsom High School in California, were among the players not invited to the event.
