AKRON, Ohio – The Akron men's basketball team will hold its fourth annual "Purple Out" event, presented by Cleveland Clinic Akron General, when the Zips host the Ball State Cardinals on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. at James A. Rhodes Arena.
The "Purple Out" event is to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer while celebrating the life of former Director of Basketball Operations Dan Peters – also known as "Pete" – who passed away on October 27, 2014, after battling pancreatic cancer. The UA Athletics Department will recognize the Peters family before the game accompanied by a "Purple Out" t-shirt toss.
