Women's Golf Tied for Fourth After Opening Round of the Rio Verde Invitational

Rio Verde, Ariz. – The Akron Zips women's golf team fired a 306 (+18) team score en route to a three-way tie for fourth place after the opening round at the Rio Verde Invitational on Friday.

The Zips are currently tied with Northern Arizona and Wichita State, while Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan hold a four-stroke advantage (300, +12), and are tied for second overall. Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) controls the team leaderboard with a 295 (+7) team tally.

Sophomore Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) led the Zips' scoring at Rio Verde Country Club's White Wing golf course that spans 6,215 yards.
