Minneapolis, Minn. -- Senior Laura Savariau (Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud, France) placed 18th overall clocking in at 2:15.31 in the 200 backstroke at the 2016 USA Open Swimming Championships Wednesday evening at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
Savariau qualified for the C final round with her swift preliminary time of 2:16.07. The senior entered the final 100 meters with a split time of 1:42.71.
On Tuesday, August 2, sophomore Sadie Fazekas (Windsor, Ontario) set a new personal-best time in the 100 back in a time trial swim touching in at 1:04.21
Sophomore Ragen Engel (Springfield, Ohio) placed 27th in the 100 free with a time of 59.
