AKRON, Ohio - Former University of Akron men's soccer standout Richie Laryea reached the first of many milestones in his professional career this past Saturday, June 24, making his Major League Soccer debut for Orlando City.
"It is always excited to see former great players for the University of Akron get their chance in the MLS," Akron head coach Jared Embick explained. "I know Richie has worked hard for this opportunity and it has been a long time coming. I thought he did really well in his debut. I look forward to seeing him in more games in the future.
