AKRON, Ohio– Junior safety Zach Guiser (Fayette City, Pa.) and redshirt senior captain James Turner (Fairfield, Ohio) have been named to the 2016 Academic All-America® Division I football team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Guiser was a first-team selection, while Turner was a second-team honoree.
While the Zips have had several District honorees over the years (since 1980), UA has had only one prior Academic All-American in its football history– PK Andy Graham in 1980.
