Greenville, S.C. – The Akron men's golf team climbed one spot on the leaderboard during the final round with a 291 (+3) team effort, finishing the 54-hole event 12th overall with an 874 (+10) tournament total at the 48th annual Furman Intercollegiate on Sunday.
For the third consecutive round, Akron's scoring was led by a different player as junior George Baylis (Ascot, England) fired a team-low 2-under par 70 final round performance. Baylis eagled the 483-yard, par-5 sixth hole and added 11 pars, three birdies, and three bogeys. For the tournament, Baylis played to a 1-over 54-hole score, finishing tied for 34th place with 217 total.
