Bobby Petrino vowed again to stay, but it's different this time

When Louisville re-hired Bobby Petrino in early 2014, he called the program his destination job. Eyebrows raised, considering his checkered past -- plus his messy split from the Cardinals during his first stint.

At the time, the skepticism was warranted. Petrino could say anything that sounded good, but he needed to prove he meant what he said. So far, he has. Now in his third year with Louisville, Petrino has laid relatively low and done everything athletic director Tom Jurich has asked him to do.

But the success Louisville has had early this season means his name will come up for head coaching vacancies.
