The Celtics had the last word against the Heat: The Celtics-Heat rivalry has taken its share of twists and turns over the last several years. Given Miami’s upset of Boston in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, Heat fans were in a confident mood watching their team win in the NBA play-in tournament in April.
Knowing that a win meant a first-round matchup with the top-seeded Celtics, Miami fans chanted “We want Boston” in the fourth quarter of the team’s victory over the Bulls.
And a series with the 64-win Celtics was exactly what the Heat were rewarded with for advancing into the postseason.
