Orioles minor league recap 5/2: Povich impresses and Mayo goes deep again

Cade Povich tossed yet another gem as the Tides won their fifth straight game. The left-handed starter went six innings, allowing just one run on five hits, four walks, and five strikeouts. His season ERA actually went up slightly, to 1.11, after this effort. Nick Vespi had a tough time in relief, giving up a pair of runs on two hits, two walks, and two strikeouts over two innings. Matt Krook fared better, tossing a scoreless ninth to wrap up the win.

Norfolk’s offense was held to just one run through the first five innings. But once the Nashville starter, Aaron Ashby, was out of the game, they went to work on the bullpen.
