On Thursday night, Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers suffered a defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks, and as is their wont, have been eliminated from the NBA Playoffs before the conference finals. That means, as far as major sports go, the Phillies will have most of the city’s sports fans focused on them for the next few months.
The good news is that the Phillies have shown that they may be capable of handling the weight of our expectations. Perhaps it wasn’t the most difficult schedule they could have faced, but their 21 wins are currently the most in baseball.
