Brewers fall short in narrow loss to Royals

The Milwaukee Brewers lost the rubber match against the Royals in a tight 4-2 loss. There were encouraging signs in the loss, but some self-inflicted mistakes left the team vulnerable. It was not quite a pitcher’s duel, but neither team’s offense was able to run away with a lead until the Royals capitalized on several mistakes late in the game.

The game started with an encouraging sequence from the Brewers. Brice Turang made good on his first impression in the leadoff spot with a double in a sixth pitch of the at-bat. William Contreras continued his excellent form with a double of his own, bringing home Turang for an early 1-0 lead.
