This article started out just looking around for the type of comeback that would be required for the Astros to crawl back into contention. But then it branched out into something that seems fairly amazing. The last three World Series opponents faced by the Astros all fell flat on their face in the early season and ended up with a furious comeback after June 1, which eventually led to two World Series championships (2019 Nationals and 2021 Braves) and one World Series loss (2022 Phillies).
I’m not saying the Astros can or will have the same kind of great season comeback.
