Softball Falls to Villanova, Ends Season in BIG EAST Title Game

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Creighton Softball team allowed just two hits, but both were home runs by Ally Jones as top-seeded Villanova upended the Bluejays, 4-1, in the BIG EAST Tournament Title Game on Saturday afternoon in Providence, R.I.

The Bluejays concluded their incredible season with a 36-22 overall record, recording the programs first 35-win season since 2010. Villanova improved to 31-22 on the year, claiming their third BIG EAST Conference title in the last four years and will represent the BIG EAST with the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Sophomore pitcher Natalia Puchino and junior outfielder Sydra Seville each earned recognition on the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.
