Tuesday night brought a big loss for Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball.
Four-star shooting guard Tyler Herro from Greenfield, Wis. (Whitnall) announced his decommitment from Wisconsin via Twitter in order to reopen his recruitment. Herro committed to the Badgers in September 2016 amid significant fanfare. At the time, B5Q’s Andrew Rosin wrote:
Greg Gard will go into 2017 with one of the best recruiting classes in Wisconsin Badgers basketball history. The plan for the Badgers might have been to save one of their scholarships for the class of 2018, when Wisconsin had a strong in-state class and Greenfield (Whitnall) shooting guard Tyler Herro was a highly-touted sophomore hovering around the national Top 50 for 2018.
