The Big Ten West is quite correctly assessed as the weaker of the two conference divisions. This season only Wisconsin (9-0) and Northwestern (7-2) from the Big Ten West were above .500 in conference play.

After going just 9-39 from 2013-2016, the Purdue Boilermakers may have turned a corner. The Boilers will be returning to the post season.
This season, Purdue went an even 6-6 overall just good enough to make a bowl game.
