On Friday, Wichita State baseball coach Todd Butler told second baseman Alex Jackson he wanted to hear him talk more than any other Shocker at practice.
"Or he has to buy Coach (Sammy) Esposito six chicken nuggets," Butler said. "We want to him to speak, being a middle infielder."
Jackson, a junior from Double Oak, Texas, knows why coaches want more vocal leadership. He is a big part of the plans as the Shockers start practice tasked with replacing nine draft picks from last season's 35-21-1 team.
