WVU Edged in Opener at No. 23 Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. – The West Virginia University baseball team was edged in a pitcher’s duel at No. 23 Oklahoma State, 3-4, on Friday night at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

In the opening game of a three-game series, the Mountaineers (13-10, 2-2 Big 12) were held to two runs on four hits. The Cowboys (16-9, 1-3) scored three runs on six hits.

WVU starter BJ Myers had a career-high-tying 10 strikeouts. He allowed three runs on five hits with three walks.

OSU’s Tyler Buffett threw a complete game, striking out seven with no walks.
