The WVU men's basketball team had its sixth consecutive win to start the season in its hands against Clemson in the opening round of the Palmetto Bracket in the Charleston Classic, but they couldn't hold onto a halftime lead and eventually fell to a Clemson rally in a 68-67 loss that the program likely won't shake from it's memory any time soon, particularly if they once again end up a bubble team come NCAA Tournament season.
The Mountaineers gave up a lead in the second half that was once as large as 11 points, and they had plenty of opportunities to score those few points they needed to earn a win – whether it be missed free throws, a wasted three-point shot that ended in an airball when WVU needed two points to tie the game in the waning seconds, or a late-game dunk with just 1.
