West Virginia baseball took its second series in Big 12 conference play this weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Mountaineers won two of three games against Oklahoma State to improve on their good start against conference foes.
Both Big 12 series have been on the road, but WVU is now 4-2 in conference play. The Mountaineers (15-10) lost the first game to the Cowboys (16-11, 1-5) 3-2, but claimed the final two games 5-3 and 9-8. Though Oklahoma state has struggled in conference play, these road victories go a long way in boosting WVU’s RPI—the number that kept the team from postseason play last year.
