Wizards-Jazz game Wednesday postponed due to health and safety protocols

The Washington Wizards’ game on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz has been postponed, the league announced. The Wizards do not have the league-required eight players available to play in that game due to coronavirus contact tracing efforts within the team.

On Tuesday morning, Washington learned two players would be sidelined through the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Coach Scott Brooks didn’t think Wednesday’s game would be altered and called the two players — Moritz Wagner and Rui Hachimura — “day-to-day.” The Wizards canceled Tuesday’s practice “out of an abundance of caution.”

But the subsequent contact tracing has ruled out more players and made Wednesday’s matchup unplayable.
