PULLMAN, Wash. - Despite battling cold temperatures and rain throughout the first day of their own WSU Cougar Cup, the Washington State women's golf team finds itself in prime position to claim their home tournament title after 36 holes at Palouse Ridge Golf Club. Putting together two solid rounds, the Cougs sit alone at the top of the leaderboard as the only team under-par on day one having posted a combined 574, -2.

The Cougs took the lead into the clubhouse thanks to four top-10 day one individual finishes.
