Source: Redskins DL Jonathan Allen out for season with Lisfranc injury

Washington Redskins rookie defensive lineman Jonathan Allen will miss the rest of the season, a source told ESPN's John Keim.

Allen suffered a Lisfranc injury in Sunday's 26-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Initially, coach Jay Gruden said Allen would "hopefully" miss only three to four weeks. Allen was scheduled to visit with noted foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson to determine the severity of the injury.

Allen, the 17th pick in the 2017 draft, had been a key part of Washington's defensive line. He'll be replaced by second-year lineman Anthony Lanier II, who earned a roster spot last season as an undrafted free agent.
