Twenty different players lined up in the Washington Redskins’ secondary in 2019, a testament to just how crippling the injury bug was last year. Of those twenty, nine of them are gone, including three quarters of the opening day starters – cornerbacks Josh Norman and Quinton Dunbar, and free safety Montae Nicholson. Strong safety Landon Collins is the sole holdover.
The Redskins expect to fill those three starting spots with young veterans they signed as free agents at the beginning of 2020, and if they stay healthy and perform as expected, they should constitute an upgrade over last year’s banged-up squad.
