49ers Shutout Redskins 9-0 In Ugly Offensive Showing

It was an all-around ugly game, as three hours of pouring rain at FedEx Field made the Redskins even tougher to watch this Sunday.

The San Francisco 49ers didn’t play well but managed to secure a shutout for the first time in over seven years in a 9-0 victory. Coming off their first win of the season over the Miami Dolphins, Washington (1-6) entered the game as 10-point underdogs to the unbeaten ’Niners.

Under interim head coach Bill Callahan, Washington started the game with 10 consecutive runs as running back Adrian Peterson averaged over six yards per carry on the opening drive.
