Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather left Sunday's game in Arizona to be evaulated for a potential concussion.
Per Michael David Smith of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "Meriweather tackled Cardinals tight end John Carlson on the first play of the game and was shaken up. He walked off the field slowly and went to the locker room."
Meriweather has a history of concussions along with a history of causing concussions for other players. He has been suspended before for violating the league's policy on helmet-to-helmet contact, but today's hit was low enough to be completely legal.
After starting the 2014 NFL season under suspension for the Redskins' first two games, Meriweather has started the last four games. If he's out for an extended period of time, the Washington secondary will need to scramble to replace the veteran's tenacity and ball-reading skills.
