Redskins News: Alfred Morris Discusses Changes To His Game, Receiving Threat

In this Redskins news and rumors update, Washington Redskins starting running back Alfred Morris is ready to add another dimension to his game - working on his hands in order to establish himself as another passing weapon for Robert Griffin III to utilize.

According to Elliott Smith of the Washington Post, "Morris spent most of his offseason and training camp molding his mind and body to become a better receiver out of the backfield, which will make him more valuable in new coach Jay Gruden’s offense."

Morris hopes that the added reps will be just what he needs to show off how varied his game can actually be.

“I have been wanting to do this for quite some time,” Morris said, via Smith's article on Friday, “so I’m thankful that they are allowing me to do it, giving me chances, and building that trust and confidence in me.”

Morris believes that his attention to the minutiae of receiving could be what turns him into a true dual threat in 2014.

“It’s a confidence thing. You have to work on the little details, like making sure you look [the ball] in and getting your fingers wrapped around the ball,” he said. “It’s even the things such as route running."

"Being able to keep that separation from a defender and not letting him undercut you will definitely help.”
