Brian Orakpo Tears Another Pectoral Muscle, Out For The Year

Washington's worst fears regarding linebacker Brian Orakpo were realized Monday after he went down with an injury agains the Titans over the weekend.

According to NBC's Pro Football Talk, Orakpo has been diagnosed with a torn right pectoral muscle, and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

This is the third time Orakpo has had this injury, although the first two times came on the left side. He tore it in the last game of the 2011 season, and then re-tore the same pectoral muscle in Week 2 of the 2012 season, missing the last 14 games.

Orakpo recovered and had a career season last year, recording 10 sacks, 60 tackles, and returning his only career interception for a touchdown. He has struggled in 2014, recording just 24 tackles and 0.5 sacks in the first seven games.

Washington's defense has been one of the league's worst this year, giving up 428 yards per game to opposing offenses.
