3 Reasons Why The Redskins Are Guaranteed To Beat The Eagles This Weekend

The Washington Redskins are right back in the thick of the NFC East race thanks to a three-game winning streak, and now comes the biggest game of the season to this point against a good Eagles team. Philadelphia has led the division for most of the season, but are on the downslide after losing to the Lions. Here are three reasons why the Redskins will beat the Eagles on Sunday:

3) Cracks in Wentz's armor
The No. 2 overall pick took the league by storm through the first quarter of the season, but came back to earth a bit against the Lions. He threw his first interceptions of the year and posted his lowest QBR of the season against a Detroit defense that has been known to give up some big games to opposing quarterbacks. Washington will prove to be a much tougher test.

2) Philadelphia's road woes
The Eagles are just 5-5 on the road over the last two seasons, and unsurprisingly, their two worst performances - and only loss - of the season came away from Philadelphia. While their offense hasn't shown a big dropoff, their defense is allowing 18 points per game on the road, compared to just 6.5 points per game at home.

1) Kirk Cousins' improvement
Cousins received most of the blame for the Redskins' 0-2 start, but he has been much better of late. During their three-game win streak, he has thrown for 739 yards and six touchdowns with just two interceptions, as well as completing over 70 percent of his passes in each of the last two games. He's playing more like the guy that led Washington to the playoffs last year, and that's a GREAT thing.
