UW Huskies top Pac-12 in preseason AP poll

The Washington Huskies have their highest presesason ranking in more than a decade -- and sit higher than any other team in the Pac-12.

Washington ranked No. 6 in the first AP poll of the 2018 college football season released Monday, the school's highest ranking since 1997 (The Huskies opened the preseason at fourth that year).

After UW, the highest-ranked Pac-12 school is Stanford (No. 13). USC (No. 15) and Oregon (No. 24) are the others in the conference to make the Top 25.

The top five, in order, is reigning national champion Alabama, Clemson, 2017 national runner up Georgia, Wisconsin and Ohio State.
