The Washington Football Team got back in the win column on Thursday night, defeating the New York Giants in a back-and-forth contest. A big reason why was the improved play of quarterback Taylor Heinicke.
Heinicke won the his first game as a starter last night (he was previously 0-2, including a playoff loss) and he overcame a costly interception to get Washington the win.
Heinicke completed 34-of-46 passes for 336 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the game-winning drive that was capped off with a 43-yard Dustin Hopkins field goal.
That’s how you get the fans to chant your name.
