Jordan Reed's Emergence Surprises No One

Washington Redskins rookie tight end Jordan Reed showed the world what he was capable of this past Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

In the Redskins 45-41 win, Reed posted a career-high nine receptions for 134 yards and a touchdown against a top-tier defense.

Reed continues to prove to the team that he is a reliable target for Robert Griffin III, as he's caught 26 of his 30 targeted passes.

Reed is living up to the pre-draft hype he received as a valuable asset in the passing game, forcing the Redskins to select him over a direct need in the 3rd round.

In today's NFL, explosive tight ends can't be stopped. They are too big for defensive backs and too fast for linebackers causing immediate mismatch problems.

For those who are familiar with SEC Football, Reed's impact isn't that much of a surprise. Here is a compilation of his highlights at the University of Florida.

Reed's emergence makes former starter, Fred Davis expendable. Davis's name has been reported in recent trade rumors this week for a possible late-round draft pick.

Only time will tell what will happen with Davis, but we all can agree Reed is balling right now, just like we thought he would.
