Terry McLaurin to skip Commanders mandatory minicamp: reports

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin is expected to skip the team’s mandatory minicamp over an ongoing contract dispute, according to multiple reports.

The Commanders’ three-day minicamp begins Tuesday. Coach Ron Rivera said last week that he expected every player to attend “because it is mandatory,” but McLaurin and the Commanders reportedly remain far apart in contract negotiations. As a result, McLaurin plans to miss the session — deploying a tactic that other star players have used in recent years while seeking new deals.

The event is mandatory and the Commanders do have the ability to fine the wide receiver if he does not attend.
