The bats are there. They just need a bit of a wake-up call.
The pitching has been better. The fielding has been solid. And, earlier, the hitting was good. But the bats took a bit of an early spring break.
UTEP will try to wake up those bats when they open Conference USA home action against UAB with a 2 p.m. doubleheader Saturday and a single game at noon Sunday.
