Texas Rangers minor league coach has child in El Paso

The Texas Rangers family grew by a member in an unlikely place, as the fiancee of a Texas Rangers minor league pitching coach gave birth at The Hospitals of Providence East Campus on Thursday, May 21.

El Paso native Daphne Mora, who is engaged to Rangers' minor league pitching coach Julio Valdez, gave birth to Auggie Valdez and the family will remain in El Paso until baseball restarts. At that point the family will relocate to the Phoenix area.

The season was supposed to be underway by now, but with the coronavirus lockdown, Julio Valdez was able to be in El Paso throughout the last months of his fiancee's pregnancy.
