USC Football managed to pull out a win in thrilling fashion over Texas on Saturday night, booting a field goal in double overtime for the the 27-24 victory.
However, voters in the AP poll were unimpressed with the Trojans, dropping USC down to No. 5.
Penn State leapfrogged the Trojans for the second time this season, moving up to No. 4 after besting Georgia State 56-0.
Alabama retained their No. 1 ranking while Clemson jumped to No. 2 ahead of No. 3 Oklahoma.
USC’s place in the AP poll in 2017 has been tenuous.
