2022 World Cup hosts Qatar have excelled in the first sustainability report for the global tournament which was published on Wednesday.
The report provides an update on the progress made by FIFA, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC in 2019 on the five sustainability commitments which include human rights, diversity and environmental protection.
Sustainable construction measures taken by Qatar at its various World Cup projects and the establishment of the public transport systems to reduce air, noise and vehicle pollution were also lauded.
