When UCLA basketball lost to St. Bonaventure in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament, I couldn’t go anywhere on social media without seeing 15 different “Fire Alford” posts.
There’s a lot that’s been said about firing Steve Alford, and I don’t think there’s anything new I could say.
But I think an equally important question worth asking is: What should UCLA look for in a basketball coach? What makes a good coach?
When UCLA hired Chip Kelly as the newest football head coach, it was a very obvious decision. Very rarely is that clear a talent on the market with bonafide success.
