The Raptors Should Consider Alternatives to DeMar DeRozan

Editor’s Note: We welcome Andrew Cannell to Raptors Rapture as our newest Staff Writer.

Following another disappointing effort from DeMar DeRozan in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, it may be time for Dwane Casey and the Toronto Raptors to reconsider their usage of the All-Star shooting guard. Considering to move away from one of their two All-Stars is a difficult decision to make, but with the series tied at 2-2 and DeRozan’s production declining in each consecutive game against the Heat, it may be a decision that Dwane Casey is forced to make. DeRozan’s struggles have been well-documented and discussed, but his Game 4 performance may have been the worst yet, providing only 9 points on 4 of 17 shooting, a mere 3 rebounds and 0 assists in 33+ minutes of time on the floor.
