Four games into their second-round matchup, the Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors are past the feeling-out stage. The rest of this series will likely be played in the trenches.
As the series progresses, coming back to Toronto deadlocked at 2-2 for Wednesday’s Game 5, its participants are starting to look like they’ve been in a car wreck. It started with DeMar DeRozan twisting his thumb backward in the final seconds of regulation in Game 1. Miami point guard Goran Dragic caught DeRozan’s elbow in the mouth in Game 2 and needed eight stitches.
In Game 3, both teams lost their centres to injuries.
