MIAMI -- Hassan Whiteside of the Miami Heat will not accompany his team to Toronto for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Raptors on Wednesday night.
Before the team departed Tuesday, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Whiteside will remain home to continue getting therapy on his injured right knee.
Whiteside, who sprained the MCL while falling awkwardly in Game 3, did not play in Game 4. Amar'e Stoudemire started at center in his place during the Heat's 94-87 overtime victory.
The Heat still plan to list him as day-to-day going forward.
