Game 1: Leafs 0, Blue Jackets 2 – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Cam Atkinson of Columbus had the icebreaker that proved to be the game-winner in a goaltending duel that opened Game 1 of the Qualifying Round series between the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets. Frederik Andersen and Joonas Korpisalo traded scintillating saves over the first forty minutes before Atkinson beat Andersen to the far, blocker side 65 seconds into the third period.

The Good:

  • Nicholas Robertson made his professional debut at 18 years old, and got the Leafs’ first scoring chance of the game. Per NHLStats, Robertson is the fifth 18-year-old in Leafs history to play his first game in the post-season.
