New Yankee Stadium finally feels like home

NEW YORK — It is still sacred ground for so many fans of this storied franchise, the plot of mostly razed ground adjacent to the gleaming, modern and frankly a little sterile “new” Yankee Stadium.

They still do the raucous chanting roll call here in the first inning and still give the opposition the business an edge not seen in many places. There’s still a Monument Park as well, at least acknowledging the history, if not exactly recreating it.

But fans of the Bronx Bombers, old and new, can often be heard lamenting the absence of the legendary intimidation often found in the House That Ruth Built.
