Toledo becomes bowl eligible for 16th season in row after beating Miami (Ohio) for 1st road win of season

OXFORD, Ohio — With all of the ups and downs for Toledo football this season, the Rockets finally got the road monkey off their back.

Toledo defeated Miami (Ohio) 24-3 Wednesday with a dominant defensive performance that saw the unit force three turnovers and record a season-high six sacks.

“Holding a college football team to three points is really hard to do,” Rockets head coach Jason Candle said. “I don't care who you're playing, where it is, what the weather is like, that's extremely difficult to do.”

Toledo (6-4, 4-2 Mid-American Conference) also didn’t start out clean with quarterback Tucker Gleason throwing interceptions on the first two drives of the game.
