Optimism abounds at UT, but Rockets know work is left to be done

The enthusiasm around the Larimer Athletic Complex was noticeably higher the past few days.

And it wasn’t only related to the University of Toledo’s preparation for the 87th renewal of the Battle of I-75.

On Wednesday night, Dyontae Johnson let out a whoop inside Cooper’s Hawk at a birthday dinner after Northern Illinois beat Western Michigan, startling some patrons and his server.

“I definitely got a few eyes,” Johnson said. “The waiter came by and asked if everything was all right. But they understood after I told them.”

Across town, Dequan Finn was watching at his house.
