AP top 25: Tigers fly, land at No. 2

After two weeks of relative calm, the college football erupted in Week 3, as six ranked teams had their first loss of the season. Four of them dropped from the top 25, and we welcome Mississippi State, San Diego State (it’s only the eighth time in 49 seasons), Utah, and Oregon.

Alabama’s still at the top, but for the third week in a row there’s a new runner-up, as Clemson exploited their convincing win over Louisville to overpass Oklahoma. The Sooners at least maintained their third position, just in front of Penn State and USC.

The Big 12 had mixed records, as Oklahoma State and TCU respectively earned three and four position after their strong wins over Pittsburgh and SMU, but Kansas State had an unexpected loss in Nashville and lost their position in the Top 25.
