This has been a season of introspection for the Rangers. What they found led to the firing of a manager and the shuffling of front-office responsibilities.
One problem area is not so easily resolved.
How do the Rangers keep their players healthy?
"That comes up quite a bit,'' general manager Jon Daniels said.
With reason.
The Rangers spare no expense with their medical and athletic-training staffs. They employ three athletic trainers, a strength-and-conditioning coach, a massage therapist, a physical therapist and a nutritionist. All are highly qualified with extensive experience in the game. Daniels expressed complete confidence in their work.
