The Rangers acquired 19-year-old center fielder Pedro Gonzalez from Colorado Wednesday to complete the deal that sent catcher Jonathan Lucroy to the Rockies.
The right-handed hitting outfielder was a major international signing for Colorado in 2014 when he received a $1.3 million bonus. He has originally a shortstop, but as he grew to 6-5, he moved off the position and to the outfield.
Gonzalez was recently ranked as the No. 14 prospect in the Colorado system by MLB.com. In his second season in short-season Class A Grand Junction (Colo.), Gonzalez has made seemingly made big strides this season.
