Oakland A’s, Khris Davis agree to two year extension

Khris Davis and the Oakland A’s have agreed to a two year contract extension that will be officially announced tomorrow, per reports. Davis was slated to hit the free agent market at the end of the 2019 season. Jeff Passan says it is a 2 year, $33.5M deal, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

Davis, a 31 year old DH/LF, was acquired by the A’s from the Milwaukee Brewers for Bubba Derby and Jacob Nottingham in February, 2016. He’s been a 2.5-3 win per year player during his time in Oakland, and is off to a hot start this year, putting up a 967 OPS so far in 2019.
